Course Contents The aim of the course is to be a research-driven preparation for the aerospace engineering MSc thesis in the final year of the MSc. It will help you prepare for the challenges of your thesis work. The course will consist of 6 units and will be taught as a fully online course using video lectures and other online contents. The set up is as follows: 1. Research Design in MSc - Introduction to research, research framework 2. Research Methods - Stages of a project, Research objective, research questions, research strategy, research methods 3. Data Analysis - Quantitative & Qualitative methods 4. Validation & Sustainable Research - How to validate & verify your work? What does it mean to conduct sustainable research? 5. Project Management - How to manage your project and your thesis progress. How to plan, expectations, Gannt Charts 6. Academic Writing - Learn the peculiarities of academic writing. The course has been designed to be suitable for distant learning but the exam will be on campus. Study Goals At the end of the course you will be able to: 1. formulate a scientific research question(s). 2. correctly cite the relevant literature. 3. understand the appropriate methodologies and tools in research. 4. learn how to set-up a clear research plan.
